King of Europe has been one of the biggest drift events in Europe for 9 years in a row. The competitions take place in several countries, and the drivers come not only from Europe, but also from America, Asia and also Australia. From year to year, the visibility, participation of competitors and passionate fans and other supporters is increasing, and especially this year it has reached such proportions that for the first time during their operation they have created several categories of competition.

The most extensive and demanding category is called ProSeries. It takes place on permanent racetracks, is accompanied by very high speeds, and competitors must be very experienced if they want to become the "Kings" of racetracks in Europe.

Grand Prix is more than a demonstration of this sport in individual countries, which takes place in such a way that some drivers from the “Pro-Series” compete with the best local drivers.

Queen of Europe, or the Queen of Europe is also a novelty in this competition. The title itself tells us that there is a lot of interest in this sport from the fairer sex and more and more excellent competitors can compete in this category and prove which one is the best in Europe.

The last subcategory, however, is called Street Legal. This offers the possibility to newcomers with a lower budget a path to visibility and allows competitions with drivers who have roughly the same cars and are at a similar level of experience.
In 2013, King of Europe received the support of two large companies, which attracted and enabled even greater attendance and viewing of competitions. These are Monster Energy, a world-renowned company that supports everything that raises our adrenaline levels in the body, and GoPro, a company that makes high-quality cameras.

In January 2013, at the grand opening of the 2013 season in Bucharest, it was confirmed that the 1st round of the competition will take place in Austria at the PS Racing Center Greinbach. Participation was confirmed by 60 drivers from 16 countries ready for serious tire handling. Three drivers from Slovenia also participated. Miha Šuštaršič, Rok Keršič and Uroš Berdajs, drivers of converted BMWs, all experienced and better Slovenian drifters. In the 1st round of the competition, the highest podium was achieved by the French representative Benjamin Boulbes in his BMW M3 e36. Second place went to Francesco Conti and third to Zoltan Lakatos. After a very successful first round of the competition, the competitors prepared for the 2nd round of the competition, which was organized in France. Here, Francesco Conti celebrated in the BMW M3 e92, 2nd place went to Calin Ciortan and 3rd to local Nicolas Delorme.

The 3rd lap, however, took place in sunny Spain at the Castelloli racetrack, which hosted the event for the third time. After an exciting end to the race, the judges ruled that the winner of the second race in a row was Francesco Conti, the second place went to the Slovak Norbert Kovacik, and the third to the Spaniard Santi Lopez. Only a week later, the 4th round of the competition took place in Greece. The top podium was taken by local Anastasios Charkas BMW M3 e30, second place went to Benjamin Boulbes and third place went to Francesco Conti.

Next weekend, the 5th round of the competition awaits us, which will take place in Romania from 28 to 30 June. The race will take place at the same time as the Formula 1 Grand Prix at Silverstone, but they still expect a high attendance of spectators. Then the King of Europe has just under two months of rest before the competitors will gather again on 24 and 25 August in the 6th round of the competition, in Osijek in neighboring Croatia. The semi-final 7th round will take place at the Hungarian Hungaroring on October 4th and 5th, where the competitors will have one last chance to score as many points as possible before the final race. The finals will be organized at the Slovakiaring racetrack in Slovakia on 19 and 20 October 2013.

We have a very exciting year ahead of us in search of the real drift of the King of Europe 2013.
