Finn Kimi Raikkonen hopes that his Lotus team will have a better chance of a good result at the upcoming Chinese Grand Prix with new parts of the car. This year’s E21 race car will undergo changes to the front and rear wings in Shanghai, and the sides will also change.

After winning the inaugural race of the season in Australia, Raikkonen finished the race in seventh place in mixed weather conditions in Malaysia, but Raikkonen is confident that he will have a better result in China if it does not rain in the race. “We didn’t score points there last year, so we can only be better this year,” Raikkonen said. “I finished the race in Shanghai in first, second and third place in previous seasons, so it would be nice if I could add to that list.

I see no reason why we should not do well there. We have some new parts on the car, and the latest improvements we've tested have helped us, so it will be interesting to see what happens if it doesn't rain. ”

Raikkonen is in second place in the overall standings of the championship, nine points behind leader Sebastian Vettl.
