In the remaining races of the 2023 MotoGP season, Joan Mir could use the chassis he tested in Misano for the 2024 season. Although the Spaniard admitted that Honda's prototype for the 2024 season is still a long way from the best, he felt a slight improvement during testing. "He is better in some areas, although it is not a big step forward. Especially on worn tires the feeling was better and I was able to be more consistent."

Honda's 2024 chassis is suitable to use this year's powertrain, so the Mir could use that for the rest of the season.

"I don't know yet, but why not? This season is more of a test season for me anyway," he said, adding that the compatibility of the new chassis with the old power unit also means bad news: "Given that the new power unit was not brought to the tests, it means that next season the engine is more or less the same as this year.”
