In the second fastest Raikkonen

Kimi Raikkonen got his second Friday free practice in Bahrain. Around the Sakhir track, the Lotus racer drove in 1: 34.154. The Finn was 30 thousandths of a second faster than second-placed Mark Webber (Red Bull), and Sebastian Vettel, the leader in the overall standings of this year's championship, was third.

Before the afternoon training, the track was soaked by a short shower, but the racers took the second training in dry conditions. Fernando Alonso was fourth, and Felipe Massa, who was the fastest in the morning practice, this time finished behind Paul di Resto, in sixth place. Seventh was Raikkonen's teammate Romain Grosjean, who was almost half a second behind the Finn.

Nico Rosberg was the highest ranked racer of Mercedes. He was eighth, just ahead of compatriot Adrian Sutil and team rival Lewis Hamilton, whose mechanics were removing accumulated remnants of rubber from the front wing by the end of training. Both McLarn racers finished training outside the top ten in eleventh and thirteenth place.

Some drama was provided by Esteban Gutierrez, who slightly missed the braking in the eighth turn. Sauber's racer earned a three-seat penalty in the Shanghai race for a collision with Adrian Sutil, this time with blocked wheels colliding with Caterham's racer Charles Pico.
