Q1

The first part of the qualifiers started on a slightly soggy track. The racers ran to the track with tires without a profile, ie for a dry track, but they soon brought them back to the pits, where they changed their tires for those for light rain. Already in the introductory warm-up lap, the racers had problems with grip, and then it started to rain again. Vettel soon came to the top, followed by Rosberg and Alonso. Webber also drove very fast, coming to second place for a teammate right at the start of the even heavier rain.

After the introductory five minutes, it seemed like we wouldn’t see any faster times as all the racers were carried away heavily along the track and off the track. They all had problems with the rain track, but six minutes before the end of the first part of the qualifications, Vettel proved that it is possible to drive even faster and thus set an even faster time. The German was taken off the track again the next lap, but judging by the conversation on the radio, only the tires were too worn.

Of course, as always in the first part, we are interested in the last ones who will not be allowed to continue the qualifications in the second round. Five minutes before the end, the last places were occupied by Van der Garde, Bianchi, Pic, Vergne, Chilton and Button. Jenson, of course, managed to accelerate and get to fifth place, and all the racers were on the track until the last second. In the end, Van der Gard, Chilton, Bianchi, Grosjean, Pic and Di Resta were left out of the second round.

Q2

The second part of the qualifications started with a light spray, or almost complete cessation of rain, which caused all the racers to run immediately. After only two minutes, it started to rain harder, which we saw at Massi, which took him from the track to the excursion zone, from where he returned to the track with a reverse ride and slowly continued.

After the first five minutes, Hamilton took first place ahead of Webber and Vettl. Interestingly, the times were as much as six seconds slower than those in the first part of the qualifications. Everyone had problems with the very wet track, as everything was carried over the curbs, off the track, along the track, over the chicanes and so on. Also in the second part, the most interesting are the last racers, who will not be allowed to continue to the last third part of the qualifications. Guttierez, Sutil, Massa, Alonso, Ricciardo and Raikkonen were out of the top ten three minutes before the end.

In the last three minutes, everyone was on the track, and the track was also lit by the light sun. This did not help Massi, who took him to the protective tires before the chicane when braking. Due to the Ferrari race car being stopped in a dangerous place, the red flag was hoisted just two minutes before the end, thus suspending the qualifications. For the racers, two minutes meant that they would only be able to drive one fast lap, which is why everyone except Vettl stood right next to the exit from the pits and staged a "little race" in the opening lap. A minute before the end, Vettel also drove on the track. , but it was too late to reach the time, it was obviously just a matter of hindering the others in the fast lap.

Vettl was called back from the Red Bulls to the pits as they saw he would achieve nothing. The other racers continued, of course, but we didn't see any major changes in the big crowd. In the end, Massa, Guttierez, Button, Maldonado, Perez and Hulkenberg remained outside the top ten.

Q3

The last part of the qualification was started by Vettel, who was closely followed by Raikkonen. The Finn tried to overtake the German after the green light came on, but he failed. Either way, the racers drove onto the track in the light sun. The track was still very wet, which caused many racers a lot of problems. After the first quick laps, Vettel came to the top ahead of Hamilton, third place went to Rosberg ahead of Alonso and Raikkonen.

Of course, times improved quickly as the ideal line dried quickly. After stopping and changing tires for fresh tires for light rain, the last attempts to hunt for the fastest time began. In the end, the first place was defended by Vettel, the second was occupied by Hamilton, followed by the excellent Bottas with Williams. Rosberg finished fourth, Webber fifth and Alonso sixth.
