Aleks Humar will drive at the traditional Saturnus-Velenje rally with start number 1, and Enej Ložnar will sit in his passenger seat for the first time. In addition to the results, Idrijčan also wants new progress in the technical knowledge of the race car.
After a very encouraging performance at the rally in Opatija, Croatia, the Slovenian national rally champion Aleks Humar is going to the traditional Saturnus rally this weekend. This year he joined the rally in Velenje, and the fast Idrijčan has already won both in the past. This time the rally will be especially interesting, as almost all speed trials will be held only on Saturday. The only exception will be a brief Friday night introduction, followed by about 150 miles of racing on Saturday.
At the rally, Humar will first get to know his new Renault clio R3T race car, in which he managed to find chassis settings at the rally in Croatia, which on the one hand reduced the unpredictability of the rear and consequently increased Humar's self-confidence behind the wheel.
The novelty of this rally will also be the new co-driver Enej Ložnar, as Florjan Rus is officially detained this time and will have to leave the hot co-driver's seat to Ložnar for one rally.
“It’s true what a lot of novelty there is. In addition to the new co-driver, I am also getting to know mostly new speed tests. The Saturday part of the rally will definitely be tiring and unpredictable. I would like to continue driving just like at the end of the rally in Opatija, where for the first time this year I was satisfied with the behavior of the car and consequently my driving. The settings will be a bit different this time and I hope for a positive outcome. For a good result, it will be necessary to drive evenly throughout the entire rally, as the competition schedule on Saturday will be very crowded, "said Aleks Humar before the rally.
