Rob Huff believes that Lada has improved a lot this season, as in the end they reached an enviable speed, despite the fact that they were five seconds behind in the middle of the season. It is worth mentioning at this point that Huff joined the team only this year after driving for a private SEAT for a year. Lada won only one place in the top five before this season, but Huff even managed one victory in Beijing and Macau, and second place in Termaus de Rio Hondo. Overall, Rob won tenth place in the World Championship scoring, which is not bad at all with Lada, as this represents a big improvement.
Otherwise, after a difficult season, Rob said that he expected a long way to success: “I knew what was waiting for me, at the beginning of the season we were not competitive at all. We therefore approached the others later and caught them fairly at the end of the season. I didn’t expect two wins and a tenth place finish, if I had known that sooner, I would have signed the contract faster. The team really achieved a lot, as we were five seconds behind the lap in Spa, for example, and then we practically reigned supreme in Macau. ”
Next season, Lada will use a new Vesta model to replace the Granto, which is why Huff is announcing an additional step forward: “We are working hard on a new car model that we will see at the end of December or in January. This will be followed by two or two and a half months of testing, and then the start of the season in which we want to fight for higher places. ”
