Rosberg still has monastic qualifications

Q1

Lotus racers were the first to take to the streets of Monaco, and of course many other racers immediately took to the track. Jules Bianchi parked the car on the slightly wet track in the opening lap at the Maseme turn (at the jewelry store). At the Marussie team, the Cosworth engine most likely failed, but of course we don't have an official confirmation yet. After the introductory lap, when the racers had to drive slowly also because of the yellow flag, the qualifications finally started. Everyone was aware that they had to drive a fast lap fast, but the track is getting faster and faster, which is why we saw quite a bit of action.

It was interesting to monitor the drying of certain areas of the track, which caused the times to constantly improve. Of course, in the first part of the qualifications we are not interested in the fastest ones, but the last ones who drop out. Throughout the race, Massa remained in the pits (due to a morning collision, his gearbox was changed), where he was accompanied by Bianchi, and di Resta, Pic, Gutierrez and Chilton remained out of the possibility of progress.

Q2

The second part of the qualifiers started out quite dramatically as it started to dew, causing the ideal line to get wet quickly. The racers, of course, quickly set off to the track to get to a fast time even in fairly dry conditions. Webber, Vettel, Rosberg, Vergne, Hamilton, Ricciardo and Alonso quickly reached the top. Despite the wet track, times improved even more, as Raikkonen reached the top without any problems, followed by Button and Perez.

In the second half of the second part of the qualifiers, it stopped raining again. Times have, of course, improved throughout, but in the second part we are also interested in those at the beginning. The last five were more or less occupied by Vergne, Maldonado, Ricciardo, Vettel and Bottas. Of course, it was halfway through when it was more than seven minutes to go. By the end of the second part of the qualifications, the situation had changed dramatically. Fernando Alonso was still in the penultimate fifteenth place two minutes before the end, but he was still cutting chic. Still, the Spaniard had another quick lap ahead, which took him to sixth place. Fernando fell to eleventh place in the final seconds, but was lucky to be able to continue into another quick lap. In the end, Hulkenberg, Ricciardo, Grosjean, Bottas, Van der Garde and Maldonado were eliminated.

Q3

In the last part of the qualifications, the racers drove under a clearer sky. Hamilton was the first to reach the fast time, followed by Raikkonen and Rosberg. Of course, times improved quickly, and soon all the racers drove onto the track. Five minutes before the end, both Mercedes racers came in first place (Rosberg ahead of Hamilton), but soon both places were moved lower by Vettel and then by Webber. The bitter fight between Mercedes and Red Bull continued, and immediately after the four of us we saw Alonso and Raikkonen, who was also close to Button.

Alonso was the first to go to the last attempts, and of course everyone else followed him. On asphalt heated to just twenty degrees Celsius, racers were able to afford a few more used tires for qualifying (they will therefore have fewer of them in the race, but it will probably only be one stop in the pits). Interestingly, Alonso heated the tires strongly for two laps, while Webber drove very fast, becoming the fastest. Just before the end of time, Hamitlon took first place, followed by Rosberg. Third place went to Vettl, followed by teammate Webber, fifth place went to Raikkonen ahead of Alonso. The top ten was also occupied by Perez, Sutil, Button and Vergne.
