Lewis Hamilton successfully overcame disqualification and start from last place in the sprint qualifying race, and lost five starting places in the race for the Sao Paulo Grand Prix in Interlagos, and won from the tenth starting place with a dominant run. The Mercedes racer was simply too fast on the plains for rivals, and with a win in Brazil, he narrowed the gap behind Dutchman Max Verstappn, who was second in the end, to fourteen points.
