Lewis Hamilton won the best starting position before the last race of the year in Abu Dhabi. Team colleague Valtteri Bottas will start the race from the first starting line, but he will start the race from the beginning due to penalties. The third time was set by Max Verstappen ahead of Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel. Alexander Albon will start the race in sixth place. The best of the rest this time was Lando Norris ahead of Daniel Ricciard. Carlos Sainz and Nico Hulkenberg finished in the top ten.
Sergio Perez finished just behind the top ten ahead of Pierre Gasly and teammate Lanco Stroll. The fourteenth time was set by Daniil Kvyat and the fifteenth by Kevin Magnussen.
As expected, both Williams racers said goodbye in the first part, as well as both Alfa Romeo and Romain Grosjean.
