The American team Haas, which is expected to join the caravan in the 2016 season, will use Ferrari powertrains. The team has signed a multi-year cooperation agreement with the team from Maranello, and in addition to the engines, the Italians will also contribute gearboxes and technical support.

“No team in Formula One is more established than Scuderia Ferrari and none has a longer history,” team boss Gene Haas said at the signing of the contract. “They have been involved in Formula One from the very beginning and will now be part of the beginnings of the Haas team. F1 is the pinnacle of motorsport. This shows the latest technology and is the most competitive environment in the world. ”

Ferrari boss Mario Mattiacci added: “We are looking forward to this important strategic partnership with the Haas F1 Team, and at the same time we welcome our American colleagues to Formula One. Months ago, Gen Haas and I merged moi on a commercial level, and it’s perfectly normal to upgrade our relationship.

While striving for a better development program for our engine customers, we also believe that this partnership can potentially evolve through the traditional role of engine supplier and technical support. The United States remains the most important market for Ferrari and offers exciting opportunities. We look forward to supporting the Haas F1 Team in their attempt to break into the competitive environment of the Formula One starting lineup. ”
