Lotus racer Romain Grosjean wants to draw the attention of leading Formula 1 teams to himself by saying that despite the losing 2014 season, he is still capable of good racing.

The Frenchman finished the 2013 season with six podium finishes and seventh place in the racing rankings as one of the strongest drivers, and last year he was mostly at the bottom of the table with his team, collecting just eight points.

“This time in Formula 1 is far from easy for me. I remember the season of 2012, when I made some stupid mistakes, and 2013, when we became very competitive with the solved problems of KERS. According to the wind tunnel data, I expected a fight for victories this year as well, until I realized that this would not be the case. People just forgot that it wasn’t long before I beat Kimi Raikkonen as a teammate who was otherwise in great shape. In addition, he got along well with the race car that suited him. That’s when I showed what I’m really capable of, ”Grosjean says of past struggles.

His decision on the 2015 season depended heavily on the fact that the seats on the other teams filled up, and hoping to seize the opportunities for a successful comeback, he stayed with Lotus. He adds: "If I keep the way I race and beat my teammate, then I hope I can sit in the winning race car in 2016."
