George Russel was the top-ranked Mercedes racer with fourth place. The Briton was 0.436 seconds slower than Gasly, despite also putting his fastest times on the softest tires.

The fifth time belonged to the current world champion Max Verstappn, who was more than half a second behind Gasly in the Red Bull sister team with a lap on medium hard tires.
