Force India has confirmed the extension of their contract with Sergio Perez for next season. For the Mexican racer, this will be his sixth season on the team. The confirmation of the contract is no surprise, and the team announced the news after successfully negotiating with sponsors Sergio Perez. The Mexican, who has been playing for the team since the 2014 season, has the best result in third place. He finished seventh in the previous two seasons in the overall standings, and is also currently in that position. He said:
“I am very happy to be able to finally reveal my future. I am very motivated for next season. Force India has been my home since 2014. The team has believed in me over all these years and allowed me to show off my racing skills on the track. We’ve had a lot of success over the last five years, and yet I’m sure the best is yet to come. All investments in the team inspire me with great optimism. ”
Team manager Otmar Szafnauer added:
"Sergio has proven to be one of the most talented and consistent drivers in Formula 1 in the last five seasons. It brings us valuable stability and is therefore very important to us."
