The calendar of the MotoGP class races of the 2019 season will also be joined by the Finnish Grand Prix, after Dorna signed a five-year contract to organize races at the KymiRing racetrack. The newly built racetrack is located in Litti and is expected to be on the calendar next season, but as Thailand joins the list of venues for the 2018 season, the Finns have decided to postpone the first race for one year.

The KymiRing, which is currently under construction, will be 4.8 kilometers long and will consist of 15 bends. The set-up was designed by Alex Wurz, a former Formula One racer.

MotoGP will be on Finnish soil for the first time since 1982, when the last race for the World Championship took place at the Imatra racetrack.
