The FIA ​​has confirmed the dates for official tests in 2017. In addition to the two already known dates, from 27 February to 2 March and from 7 March to 10 March, teams will be able to carry out official tests between 8 and 19 in the current season. April in Bahrain, between 1 and 2 August in Budapest and at the end of the year between 28 and 29 November in Abu Dhabi.

In Bahrain, official testing will be carried out for the first time since 2014, as this term replaces the term used in Barcelona for many years. Testing at the Budapest racetrack is also a novelty. They will take place immediately after the race on July 30th.

Thus, in view of the previous years, the official summer training in Silverstone has been erased, and only the final official testing also joins the last race of the season. The purpose of the last official training is for the teams to be able to test the new tires for 2018. At the official tests in Bahrain and Budapest, the teams are obliged to hire substitute racers or so-called young racers for four days to get to know the car and its behavior on the racetrack. .
