The Sauber team has announced that the Swede Marcus Ericsson, who made his Formula One debut with Caterham this year, will race for them next season.

“After a very turbulent week, I got a Christmas present a bit early,” Ericsson said. “The Sauber team has entrusted me with a race car for the 2015 season, which makes me very proud, as this team is known as one of the best racers. The challenge will be great. I will do my best to develop as a racer and to take the Sauber team closer to the top, where it belongs, ”he added.

“Marcus is a very motivated racer,” commented team boss Monisha Kaltenborn on the announced collaboration. “It is not an easy start-up season for him, but he has remained calm all the time and has improved especially in the last races. We are confident that Marcus will give the team a new impetus, ”added Kaltenborn.

Who will be Ericsson's teammate is not yet known.
