Dovizioso: I have to believe in the title

Andrea Dovizioso said he has to believe he can catch up with forty-nine points behind Marco Marquez later in the season and become world champion.
Dovizioso fell in the race in France immediately after taking the lead due to a front wheel slip and thus ended the fall for the second race in a row, after also falling in Jerez. The Italian described the mistake in Le Mans as "unacceptable", but the fact that, according to him, he had the rhythm to fight for victory with Marquez in this race fills him with optimism and encourages him not to give up in the fight for the title.
“We can take something positive from this situation, as we were very fast on the track in Le Mans compared to last year. We could have taken 20 points from Jerez and we had a good rhythm here. This means that we have taken a step forward on these tracks compared to our competition. ”
“This will help us in the next races as we have to regain lost points. 49 points is a lot, but a lot happened in the first races. The best we can do is fight for the podium and win every race. Then we will see what happens, because the season is very long. But we have to believe that we can succeed. ”

Valentino Rossi and Danilo Petrucci, who were on the winning podium next to Marquez, are more pessimistic about the title fight.
Petrucci said:
“I don’t know who can stop him. After five races, he already has a 36-point advantage over second-placed Vinales. ”
Rossi added:
“Marquez already has a nice advantage. But more than that advantage of me and all the other racers worries about his speed on the track. He is the fastest and it will be very difficult to beat him this year. ”
