At the second IIC race in Trentino, Makolčan fell after a spectacular jump, and was carried off the track on a stretcher.
A medical examination showed a fracture of the right femur, which will need to be repaired with surgery.
What this means for his World Cup season is currently unclear, but more will be known after the surgery.
