Di Montezemolo: I expected more

Former Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemolo also gave the Ferrari team a slap in the face. As he explained in a conversation with their development, he is not satisfied.

“I expected better results and improvements,” Di Montezemolo was critical. As a result, rumors of the dismissal of team leader Maurizio Arrivabene are growing louder. Di Montezemolo makes no secret of the fact that he, too, is among those who believed Ferrari could win again. "Of the five matches, we did not win a single one," he continued with his criticism.

And it was the victories that his successor, Sergio Marchionne, promised when he advocated development and the associated costs. "I know that we have already improved a lot in 2014 and so the success of last season was only a result of the progress in 2014," he praised his period.

"There is a gap between the Mercedes team and the Ferrari team, as well as between the Ferrari team and the other teams," he described his view, putting Ferrari in second place and the other teams behind him. He sees Ferrari's progress only in the fight for the first three places, as he pointed out below.

Of course, Di Montezemolo could not avoid the question of Kimi Räikkönen's position, but he surprised those present by saying that Daniel Riccardo had a bigger advantage over the Finn. “Above all, he is a pleasant racer and above all he is fast. Even Sebastian Vettel might wonder how fast Riccardo would be in a red race car. If I was still at Ferrari, Riccardo would be my first choice, ”concluded Di Montezemolo.
