Crutchlow on upcoming record-long season: 21 races is too many

Cal Crutchlow recently gave his opinion on the increasingly long racing calendar. In the coming season, the racers will have a record long season - 21 races. As many as ten of these (if we include Kazakhstan) will take place outside of Europe.

The Briton, who has the role of test rider for the Yamaha team, added that the longer calendar will present much greater problems to some racers and team members than to others.

"Personally, I think the calendar is too long. It will be difficult especially for those who have families. The younger ones probably don't pay too much attention to it, while Aleix Espargaro and individuals like him with their families could have more problems, since they will be away from home even after two months.

According to him, the ideal number of races per season would be 18.

"I think 18 races is quite enough, but I'm not the one who decides where the race will be held."

In the end, the Briton without a hair on his tongue warned not only the racers but also the rest of the staff.

"If someone doesn't like this, they can easily leave the caravan. It will not be difficult for the teams to find new mechanics, cooks and other staff. You are well aware of that."

"On the other hand, there will always be those for whom even 30 races will not be too much."
