Lotus, according to CEO Matthew Carter, is not for sale, although there have been frequent speculations lately about whether the team will pass into the hands of Renault. The latter engine manufacturer has been thinking for some time about the future - whether to say goodbye to the highest class of motorsport or compete with their own team.

The greatest takeover potential occurs with Toro Ross and Lotus. As already mentioned, Lotus does not agree with this, even though they are facing financial difficulties.

“I know Renault is currently assessing its role in Formula 1. They are at a fairly high level, and the dilemma is whether to remain just an engine supplier or change that. Our shareholders have made it clear that Lotus is not for sale. There is a well-known quote that everything is for sale at its price, but shareholders claim that there is no such possibility here, as they do not want to give up their majority stake, ”said Carter.
