Jenson Button is of the opinion that his teammate at McLaren, Sergio Perez, was too aggressive in their duel in the Bahrain Grand Prix race. The McLaren racers got involved in a close duel several times, during which there was several contacts between the two cars. In one of the touches, Perez hit Buttn’s rear tire with his front wing and injured himself. Button called on his team via radio to calm Perez down, but the duel continued in the same style.

“I was very loud on the radio, the emotions were at their peak, but I would do it all over again,” Button said. “There was a lot of good racing on the track, only not with Chec (Perez). I would say he was too aggressive. You don't expect your teammate to touch your bikes at 300km / h with his race car. I was a little surprised, and I’m probably not the only one who has that opinion. Things like that happen in karting and you usually outgrow them, ”Perez was angry.

Perez, however, is of the opinion that Button was also uncompromising towards him. “I think I was as aggressive towards him as he was towards me,” Perez said. “Maybe I was a little too aggressive. It could happen that they both finish the race prematurely. ”

Perez finally finished the race in sixth place, his best achievement in a McLaren race car. Button had to settle for tenth place with four stops.
