Budkowski believes that the new rules will have the greatest impact on the top three teams, namely Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull, because they had a big advantage over the rules from previous seasons. Now, however, this great advantage is expected to be considerably diminished. On reducing the importance of aerodynamics, he said:
"I will not talk about concrete numbers, but I can guarantee that the difference compared to last season is quite large. It is difficult to talk about whether this difference is so great only with us or also with others. However, I think this difference is even bigger with the best teams as they had the fastest, most complete race car. So now they will take a bigger step back. ”

Renault finished last season in fourth place in the constructors' standings. Their goal for this season, however, is to minimize the gap to the top three teams. As Budkowski added, it would be unrealistic to expect them to come completely close to the top three.
