Formula 1 has started a competition to select a tire fitter for the 2025 season and beyond. Italy's Pirelli has been the exclusive tire supplier since the 2011 season, when the tire war ended and F1 decided that all teams must use tires from the same manufacturer.

Of course, Pirelli is ready to continue with the supply of tires, although they have not yet applied for the current tender, but it seems that they could get a serious competitor in the competition this time, as the Japanese tire manufacturer Bridgestone is said to be very interested in returning to F1.

The competition, which started on March 20 this year, will give the tire manufacturer a contract for three seasons from 2025 to 2027, with the option of extending to 2028, and the chosen outfitter will also have to supply tires to Formula 2 and Formula 3, as is the case now.
