There is also unofficial news from the Ferrari team that Maurizio Arrivabene will be replaced by Mattia Binotto.

There has been speculation about this for some time, and although Maranello has denied hints that the title fight will change again, sources from the Italian team now say that Ferrari's new president, John Elkann, has decided that Binotto right to lead the team.

The official confirmation of the exchange is expected to be on the schedule soon, probably today.

Arrivabene lost his position as boss because the setbacks in the team's leadership were supposed to greatly contribute to the team's new defeat. The biggest example of such a mistake is the vague role of another racer, Kimi Raikkonen, which led to unpopular events at the German Grand Prix and the Italian Grand Prix.

There were also a number of strategic mistakes, for example in the qualifications for the Grand Prix of Japan, where the racer was sent to the dry track with rain tires.

Arrivabene later blamed the defeat for the lack of progress in the development of the car, as the innovations at the Singapore GP did not bring improvements to the car, and all the same there were serious conflicts between Arrivabene and Binotto, who had different views on the team's approach.

Binotto has served as technical director on the team since 2016, replacing James Allison, and joined the team in 1995.
