Marco Bezzecchi is the winner of the MotoGP race for the French Grand Prix, and Jorge Martin finished the race on the podium after a close fight with Marco Marquez. After a great performance in second place, Marquez fell and retired. Local Johann Zarco was third.

The race was marked by a collision between Maverick Vinales and Francesco Bagnaia, and a collision between Alex Marquez and Luca Marini. This year's rookie Augusto Fernandez drove an excellent race, finishing in fourth place.

Marc Marquez took the lead in the first corner of the 27-lap race, followed by Jack Miller ahead of Luca Marini, Francesco Bagnaio and Jorge Martin.

Already in the second lap, Marquez and Miller switched places several times, and Martin made a mistake and slipped to tenth place. A lap later, however, the KTM rider took the lead, but Marquez followed him closely.

In the fifth lap, Maverick Vinales successfully attacked for fourth place, overtaking Luca Marini, and just a few corners later he overtook and collided with Bagnaio, with whom both then retired. In the background, there was also the unfortunate collision and fall of Alex Marquez and Luca Marini, which was initiated by the Mooney VR46 racer, who saved himself from the fall, and then crashed into Marquez.

In the foreground, Miller was still leading ahead of Marquez, who was completely closed to Bezzecchi.

On the eighth lap, Bezzecchi attacked Marquez and pushed him off the racing line, which Martin took advantage of to drive past both of them into second place. Bezzecchi was penalized for irresponsible driving by giving way to the rider behind him, which he did just after passing Martin.

In the 11th lap, Bezzecchi took the lead, Miller was second, ahead of Marquez and Martin, and at the end of the lap, Marquez also passed the Australian.

With 15 laps to go, Bezzecchi had already built up a second lead over Marquez, while Martin overtook Miller for third with twelve laps to go.

While the race calmed down at the front, there were interesting battles for higher positions behind the leaders. Augusto Fernandez performed very well, making it to an excellent fifth place in the 16th round.

With 10 laps to go, Bezzecchi led by more than two seconds over Marquez, who was 0.6 seconds ahead of Martin, who was more than a second ahead of Johann Zarco in fourth.

In the 20th lap, due to driving off the track during the duel with Miller, Binder received an extended lap penalty, and Martin was preparing to overtake Marquez for second place in the front, and he tried to pass the Spaniard for the first time already in the next lap. He and the Honda racer then swapped places a few times in the following laps.

Three laps before the end of the race, Martin tried to pass Marquez in the first corner, but the Honda rider defended the place by braking in the next corner. Meanwhile, Jack Miller fell in the background.

In the penultimate lap, Marquez had to concede superiority to Martin, but just after that his Honda slipped and the eight-time world champion ended the race in the sand.
