Bezzecchi isn't thinking about a title yet

Marco Bezzecchi says he is not thinking about fighting for the world title for now.

Reigning world champion Francesca Bagnaia's crash at the main event in Argentina allowed Bezzecchi to take the championship lead by nine points after the first two race weekends.

In 2022, Gresini Ducati satellite racer Enea Bastianini won four times and was in the fight for the championship until the penultimate race.

When asked if he could now consider himself a title challenger as a Ducati satellite rider, Bezzecchi said: "Maybe it's a little too early."

"I'm not thinking about it," he said of his title chances. "I think it's still a little early. Only the second weekend has passed.

“Now we're going to Austin, which is a very challenging track where Marc [Marquez] is usually unbeatable.

"In my opinion, it is still a little too early at the moment. I would like to enjoy this win and learn from every race. But we will see in a few months.”
