Loris Baz will return to the MotoGP-class caravan in Silverstone, where he will replace the injured Paul Espargaro in the KTM team this weekend. Esparagaro missed the last three races due to a broken left collarbone. With the injury of the test racer of the Austrian team Mike Kallia, such a team competed in these races with only one racer - Bradley Smith. As KTM team leader Pit Beirer said, they had quite a bit of trouble finding a replacement racer for this racing weekend.

They first turned to another of their test racers, Randy de Puniet, who turned down the option as he wanted to test the motorcycle before the end of the race. So they turned to his compatriot Loris Baz. He already has experience competing in the MotoGP class, where he competed for three seasons before losing his seat in 2017. He is currently competing in the Superbike class for the Althea BMW team.
