Francesco Bagnaia is the winner of the premier MotoGP sprint race in Portimao. Jorge Martin and Marc Marquez joined him on the podium.
Fourth place was taken by Jack Miller ahead of the Aprilia racers. This time, Maverick Vinales overtook senior teammate Aleix Espargaro. Seventh was home trump Miguel Oliveira ahead of Johann Zarco. Alex Marquez took the last point of the day with ninth place, while Fabio Quartararo ended the top ten in disappointment.

Marc Marquez had the best start to the race, holding the lead in the opening corner. Enea Bastianini made his way from the sixth starting position to the second place with an excellent start.
In the first round, Joan Mir retired after colliding with Fabio Quartararo with a fall in the thirteenth turn. The French racer made the race even more difficult with a bad start after the poor qualifications. In the second round, after a mistake in the fifth turn, Luca Marini also took Bastianini out of the fight for the top places. Marco Bezzecchi completed a disastrous day for the Mooney VR46 Racing team with a crash.
Jorge Martin made his way to the front of the race. A group of five racers formed in the foreground, in addition to Martin, Miller, Bagnaia, Oliveira and Marquez. The leading team was joined by Aprilia racers in the second half.
The victory was decided in the last lap of the race when Francesco Bagnaia capitalized on Jorge Martino's mistake at turn five.
