Francesco Bagnaia apologized to the judges at the Argentine Grand Prix for braking on the plane and avoided punishment.

The Ducati racer was looking for a free path on the track in the second free practice, as he wanted to set up a fast lap that would ensure him a direct place in the second part of the qualifications. But the Italian caught up with a few rivals in the last part of the lap, which visibly angered him, and then he slowed down between the thirteenth and fourteenth turns to allow the racing train to pass.

Bagnaia eventually landed in the first part of the qualifiers, where the fight for the cities also ended. He will start the race from thirteenth place after avoiding punishment after talking to the judges.

“I would like to apologize to the other racers,” Bagnaia said. “But when you’re nervous, you make mistakes. This time it was me. I did wrong, it was my fault. As soon as I entered the Commissioners' Office, I apologized for my actions, and the judges showed understanding and reminded me to act more wisely and carefully in such situations in the future, as I was too nervous about racers, who usually most complain about waiting for the wind in the Moto3 class, but this time they did the same. ”

The Ducati racer explained that he simply wasn’t fast enough, due to the behavior of the motorcycle and tires. “I was confident I would be able to drive a good lap as I drove on 16 laps of used tires very fast, 1: 39.3,” he said. “I had a good feeling, but when we installed the new tires, I just couldn’t drive a fast enough lap. I only gained three tenths. I was slow in qualifying, that’s all I can say. I have problems with bumps and new tires in general. These two were the biggest problems, but we already have some solutions. ”
