Francesco Bagnaia finished today's qualifying, which counts both for the sprint and tomorrow's main race, in second place, just 0,064 seconds behind the fastest Marquez. The Italian was on the threshold of the best starting position before Marc Marquez improved his time right at the end.
In the first interview immediately after qualifying, he expressed his satisfaction with his performance, but nevertheless believes that he could have improved his time in the final attempt if he had not been hindered by four racers who drove slowly on the ideal line.
"I was satisfied with my first round. In the second I was even faster, but I ran into four racers who were driving slowly on the ideal line. So I lost the chance to get the best starting position. Still, I'm happy with what's shown. We are in a good position before today's sprint race."
