The International Automobile Federation (FIA) has, after numerous complaints from racers, provided the teams with a new technical directive imposing safety measures on race car manufacturers to prevent race cars from bouncing.

During the racing weekend in Azerbaijan, some racers felt pain in their necks and backs, so the FIA decided to take action, but this weekend at the Canadian Grand Prix directive will not affect the way teams set up their cars, but for now will only collect data.

After the race in Baku, the debate on changes to the rules to limit the jumping of cars has become a hot topic, but since some teams have no problems with this phenomenon, it would be impossible to reach the necessary agreement, so the FIA implemented the changes on the basis of security. they don't need to.

However, the new technical directive will bring more detailed control over the bottom of the race cars in the continuation of the season, on which they will also monitor vertical accelerations. Based on data collected in Montreal, the FIA will be able to impose, among other things, measures such as a limit on the number of jumps. Exactly how they will act is not yet known, but teams have been invited to participate, and there is quiet talk of suspension changes that could lead to the return of active suspension.
