Aprilia is the only manufacturer besides KTM-a, which can use new powertrains this year, and their motorcycle, which was developed as the only team with development concessions, is lighter than 157kg for the first time this year, which is the minimum weight of a MotoGP motorcycle, which allows the team to add ballast for better balance.
Lorenzo Savadori has also been officially selected as a regular racer although the team announced last November that teammate Espargaro, for whose role Savadori competed with Bradley Smith, selected only after the end of winter testing.
