McLaren has confirmed that Andrea Stella will take over as team boss after Andreas Seidl decided to return to Swiss team Sauber.
Seidl joined McLaren at the beginning of 2019, but before the start of the 2023 season, he will return to the team from Hinwil, where he was already employed for four years during the period of cooperation with BMW. The German is also strongly connected with the Volkswagen concern, which will take over the team with its Audi brand in the near future.
Stella has been with McLaren since 2015 and director Zak Brown considers Andrea to be a very experienced and respected part of the team. "Andrea is very talented, experienced and respected. He has already proven in the past that he is a good leader," he said. "I look forward to working with him even more closely in the pursuit of race wins."
