The McLaren team revealed the color of the car with which Fernando Alonso will compete in his last Formula 1 race. The Spaniard announced some time ago that he is saying goodbye to Formula 1 at the end of the season, so the team has prepared a bit for his last race a different painting of a race car. The colors of his helmet (red, blue, yellow) were transferred to the back of the otherwise orange race car.
Team manager Zak Brown said:
“We are very happy and proud that we have prepared a special painting of the car for Fernando's last race. We want his last race to be special in every way and that's just one of the ways we can do that. ”
“For this, we worked together with Fernando FIA and Formula 1 to be able to make these changes for one race. All of them were enthusiastic about the idea and supported it. ”
"We want this to give him extra motivation for this special weekend for him."
