Alex Lowes is the winner of the second Superbike class race at Philip Island. The Kawasaki rider won the victory completely at the end of the race, when he managed to pass the then leader Alvaro Bautista on the outside. The Spaniard led from the restart of the race - it was interrupted in the fourth lap due to the fall of Jonathan Rea. Danilo Petrucci joined them on the winners' podium.

Andrea Iannone took the fourth goal. The latter started the race perfectly from the fourteenth starting position and made his way into the leading group. After the break, he was a little behind the leaders, but managed to take advantage of Andrea Locatelli's fall and get just under the podium for the winners. Nicolo Bulega, the winner of yesterday's first race, was fifth.

Toprak Razgatlıoğlu failed to confirm the third place in the Superpole race, as his motorcycle gave him out in the second round.

The race was stopped in the fourth lap due to Jonathan Rea's accident at turn eleven. The Northern Irishman, who was unconscious after falling, was taken away for further investigations.
