The Japanese Takaaki Nakagami will also race in the MotoGP class in 2024 for the LCR Honda team, in which he also competed in the royal class of the motorcycle championship for the first time in 2018.

"I am proud to be able to count on Nakagami for another season," said team boss Lucio Checcinello. "Takaaki is a fast racer who is capable of achieving good results and together with Honda Racing Corporation we believe that the moment is right to continue to strive for improvement."

In 2024, Nakagami will be joined by his third teammate in three seasons - Johann Zarco, who will replace Alex Rins, and with Nakagami's confirmation, there is only one seat left for the 2024 season, namely on the Gresini Ducati team, which is currently occupied by Fabio di Giannantonio. whose contract expires at the end of this season.
