Carlos Sainz was the fastest driver in the first F1 free practice session for the Monaco Grand Prix. The closest to the Spaniard in the Ferrari was compatriot Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin), while Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton set the third time with a gap of 0.663 seconds.
Street racing specialist Sergio Perez was fourth, while Charles Leclerc set the fifth time ahead of reigning world champion Max Verstappen.
