The Repsol Honda team appealed to the FIM commissioners who fined their rider Marc Marquez for causing the accident, but two days after the race the penalty was changed.

Marquez was penalized with two extended laps at the race in Argentina, but it was later revealed that he would miss the race due to an injured finger. On Tuesday after the race, the commissioners issued an additional clarification that the eight-time world champion will have to serve the penalty at the next race in which he will compete, and such a change of the penalty is not in accordance with the rules, according to Honda, so they have appealed the decision.

The FIM considered the appeal today, and the commissioners decided to refer the matter to the Court of Appeal.
