Takaaki Nakagami confirmed the encouraging news about Honda's bike for the 2024 season from his colleagues who tested the latest RC213V.

Before the start of the 2024 season, Honda got a big boost from Dorna, who changed the concession system, according to which now Honda and Yamaha, among others, are entitled to several test days. Even before the start of the official MotoGP winter testing, all four Honda racers took part in a shakedown of the new prototype, which is an improved version of the one from the November testing in Valencia.

According to some reports, the motorcycle is as much as eight kilograms lighter than its predecessor, and its power unit, aerodynamics, and suspension are also new. Overall, it's said to be easier to handle, with Nakagami praising the powertrain in particular. "It has more torque, allows for a higher final speed, in general it is better," said the Japanese, who will compete in the LCR Honda team this year for the seventh year in a row.

"Obviously, we found the right path, the right concept, because all Honda racers agree on improvements," he added.
