According to the Italian Gazzetta dello Sport, Charles Leclerc is expected to sign a new contract with Ferrari, which will be valid until the end of 2029, and the Monaco native will earn 50 million euros with it.
While team-mate Carlos Sainz is still negotiating a new contract, Leclerc is said to have certain guarantees about the race car's competitiveness in the third year of his contract, which will allow him to terminate early. He is expected to make 25 million in the first year, and then more each season, up to 50 million in the final season of the contract.
Although Leclerc's future is thus resolved, negotiations with Sainz are still ongoing. Although the Spaniard was the only non-Red Bull driver to win in 2023, Ferrari are clearly not keen on a long-term deal and are offering him a one-year deal to try and lure McLaren's Lando Norris away in 2025, while Sainz wants at least a two-year extension of cooperation.
