Mark Webber believes that Lewis Hamilton is not at the level of Sebastian Vettl and Fernando Alonso. The Australian said Vettel and Alonso are the best racers he has ever raced against, adding that during his time racing for Red Bull, Michael Schumacher did not have a comparable race car.

“It’s hard to say, as we had to constantly adjust to the tires, qualifying for one quick lap and the like,” Webber said when asked who his biggest competitor in Formula One was. “I would say Seb and Fernando. It is difficult for the latter to run for two whole hours, although it is not at the level of Seba when we talk about one fast lap. But on Sundays they are somewhere on the same level. Hamilton isn’t from flies either, but he’s not even close to Alonso and Sebu, who are like a machine. They literally turn them on and immediately do their best. That's not the case with Hamilton.

Against Michael, I basically didn’t even race at the same level, as he was in the first part of my career at Ferrari and I was in something else, less competitive. When I was in Red Bull, however, he was in a Mercedes that was worse.

Seb and Alonso were in the best cars at the same time, ”explained Webber, who added that Schumacher lost quite a bit of respect with him when he deliberately stopped his car on the track at the 2006 Monaco qualifiers. “The fact that the car stopped on the track, that none of us could complete the lap, was really mean from him. There have been quite a few such moves in his career. He has an enviable collection of trophies in the shop windows, but he also achieved them by crossing all borders and wasting the respect of fellow racers, as was the case in Monaco. He made a big mistake there, ”added Webber.
