This weekend, 8 and 9 August, the traditional Lučina Mountain Speed Race 2015 will take place. Almost 100 drivers from as many as 10 European countries have registered. The fight for the fastest time and the overall victory promises to be between last year's winner, Swiss Titian Riva, and last year's winner and last year's 'osmoljenec', Italian Federico Liber.

The mountain speed test of Lučina 2015 in Poljanska dolina once again promises a top automotive spectacle that is not far away. 99 drivers are registered for this year's test, of which 8 are old-timers. In addition to Slovenian competitors, Austrians, Italians, Croats, Czechs and Poles will also take part, and Bulgaria, Serbia, Montenegro and Switzerland will also develop their colors in Lučine with one representative each.

In addition to the national championship in mountain speed motoring, the AŠ 2005 championship and the vintage championship, this year's race also counts for the Slovenia Triveneto Cup 2015, the FIA International Cup in mountain motoring, the FIA International Mountain Championship of the Central European Zone and the FIA International Mountain Championship of the Central European Zone.

The fight for the top places in the absolute competition from ride to ride will surely flare up between last year's winner Swiss Tiziano Riva (Reynard 92D), who beat all the competition last year, including Italian Federico Liber (Formula Gloria C8F), who celebrated last year, last year but resigned. Given the interesting outcome in the last race in Gorjanci, where Liber won and Riva was left without a place, we can only imagine that there will be a 'knife' between the drivers in Lučine. Janik, Svoboda and Trnka, all three with Norma M20FC, will definitely join the fight for the highest places. Vladimir Stankovič (Coloni JPV) is returning, already the winner of Lučin, who missed two consecutive matches in Poljanska dolina, and this year in Gorjanci he celebrated as the fastest Slovenian.

The national championship of mountain speed trials is already announcing a hot fight between Lučin's old acquaintances: Peter Marc (Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX) is coming to defend the lead in the overall standings, Aleš Prek (Honda Civic) and Milan Bubnic (Lancia Delta HF).

Among the interesting competitors, it is worth mentioning the rally driver, Rok Turk, who will drive a Peugeot 4 / R208 on a 2-kilometer route, which will not be harmed by some training. In Poljanska dolina, Bulgarian Nikolaj Zlatkov is already facing hospitality and real summer heat with an Audi Quattro S1, which has already parked its vehicle not far from the venue in Todraž. We miss the women's team, which has always added value to the races in Lučine, for the time being our Sanja Smrdelj and Janja Štrekelj will not be old, Gabriella Pedroni did not announce the arrival of her beloved Lučina. But let’s wait until Friday, when a lot more can change. At that time, the first competitors will be in the premises of the former Žirovski vrh Mine in Todraž, they will be ready on Saturday, August 8, when the first of the three training runs will start at 11.30, which will end until late afternoon.
On Sunday, August 9, there will be the first run at 10 am, the grand opening of the race at 12.45 pm, the second run at 13 pm and the third run at 15 pm. The winners will be announced and the awards ceremony will take place at 18.30 pm.

The organizer promises a tense race this time as well, as the track is one of the most varied and interesting, and there is a lot of safety on it. There will be a special bus for spectators along the route during the rides, as some parts of the weight are accessible. There will be no shortage of shade either, but if so, ‘in the raids’ as well as at other points, the Lučin firefighters will provide a refreshing drink, which we believe will be given the promising weather forecast and the heated atmosphere, which will be intensified by the official announcer. Vladimir Krivec, how nice!
