F1 chief technical delegate Pat Symonds has revealed that the unusual rear wing developed by the Aston Martin team this year will not be allowed next season.

At the Hungarian Grand Prix, the Aston Martin team presented the rear wings with an interesting shape, reminiscent of an armchair, and the special shape is supposed to help create more negative pressure, but this is not entirely in the spirit of the new rules, because among other things, it also creates more eddies behind the racer, which annoys the racers driving behind. Symonds says that they do not want to significantly change the new rules.

"No, we have to let the teams develop. But there are a few little things that we've changed to not allow things like the Aston Martin rear wings, because teams could go in the wrong direction with development. In general, I am satisfied with the new rules. It wouldn't be right to make big changes," he explained.
