According to Nakagami, Marquez is not to blame for the collision in Aragon

Takaaki Nakagami does not yet know whether he will be able to participate in the home MotoGP race in Motegi, as he injured his hand in the race in Aragon last Sunday.

The Japanese collided with Marc Marquez in the first lap, who had previously been involved in a collision with Fabio Quartararo that left part of the Frenchman's Yamaha stuck in his motorcycle. The Spaniard described the collision with Nakagami as an unfortunate set of circumstances, as debris from the original collision caused a problem with the activation of the height adjustment system, which caused Marquez's bike to slow down and veer to the left.

Ducati rider Jack Miller laid more of the blame for the crash on Nakagami, while the latter admitted there was nothing Marquez could have done to prevent the engine from spinning which caused contact with his Honda.

"I tried to overtake Marca on braking into the seventh corner, but I was too late and therefore drove off the line, and he attacked me back at the exit of the seventh corner," Nakagami described the event. “He was in front of me and it looks like the motorcycle pulled to the left when he activated the system. It all happened so fast that I couldn't avoid being touched. It was then that I saw that it was in no way Marc's fault. It was an accident and I wasn't mad at him for a moment," explained the LCR Honda racer, who suffered cuts on two fingers in the fall.

"I was unlucky and injured myself, but that's life. It could have been worse because I hit it twice and after the first one I had no control of the bike. I was lucky because the second touch I was already falling. When I was on the ground, I saw that the racers behind me were already avoiding the accident. The hand is not in the best condition. I had an operation in Barcelona on Monday and it is impossible to fully recover in such a short time. From what I understand after the race, the arm is in very bad shape, so I expect a tough race weekend on home soil. Fortunately, at least I got permission to participate in the first practice session, after which I have to undergo a re-examination, after which we will decide if we will continue or if I will have to miss the race."
